Nancy wakes up and reports to Debbie, they discuss the storm last night. She tells you that you need to go and talk with Scott. Then she gives you Task #9 to do. But remember that guy that was messing around the coffee table in the middle of the night, why don’t we check the coffee table. Look at the book in the center of the table, it is sitting on some papers, click on the papers, they are job offers for Debbie that she has turned down…hmmm, guess we will talk to her about that later.
Task #9 – Take care of the Prairie Dogs by the cornfield
You need to move them to the other side of the barn. You will need to talk to Chase about coming up with a humane way to do it.
First go talk to Scott. He gives you a new task to do.
Task #10 – Capture mice in Scott’s Office – He tells you to get a catch and release trap at Ma & Pa’s.
Just on a side point, it is a nice day out so you can go and take the pictures of the other 2 cloud formations if you wish, just not the Cirrostratus you wont be able to get that till towards the end of the game.
Now lets go and talk to Chase about moving the prairie dogs. He tells you that he needs a bigger hose for the vacuum that he made to capture the prairie dogs. You need to go to Ma & Pa’s and get the bigger hose there. Take the small hose and it will automatically go into your inventory.
So it’s off to Ma & Pa’s for both tasks.
Drive to Ma & Pa’s if you remember how to get there you can drive there without the use of the GPS, if you don’t remember you can open the GPS and navigate there.
Go on in and talk to Pa. When you ask him for a bigger vacuum tube he asks you to do something for him. He wants you to do Task #11 - Help him with the snack isle display and organize it. Then ask him if you can borrow the mousetrap in the museum, he says he could lend it to you do a little something for him first. He wants you to help him with Task #12 – Update the Fujita Scale Tornado Display. All right so we will have to complete Task 11 & 12 BEFORE we can complete Task 9 & 10 so lets get started. For the sake of order we will do Task 11 first.
Task #11 - Help him with the snack isle display and organize it. SPOILER: SNACK ISLE DISPLAY – PUZZLE #11 Go over to the snack isle and head down to where the candy is. Click on the gray box labeled “Wickford Product Display”. The object of this puzzle is to organize each piece of candy on the right side of the box to all fit horizontally or vertically without overlapping. You can right click on the candy to rotate it. Move your mouse over the up and down arrow to find the candy bars you are looking for that would best fit. Once you get them to fit perfectly, Nancy will say “I did it!”
Once you get the display organized you can move on to Task #12
Task #12 – Update the Fujita Scale Tornado Display SPOILER: FUJITA SCALE TORNADO DISPLAY – PUZZLE #12. Go into the museum in Ma & Pa’s, go straight back to the Tornado display. On the display you will see a book titled “FUJITA SCALE”, click on the book and it opens to the puzzle that needs to be solved. The object of the puzzle is to place the correct tabs in the correct spots under the columns: For Fujita Scale - Fastest ½ mile wind speed, MPH. 3 – second gust speed, MPH and for EF Scale 3 – second gust speed, MPH, Damage Indicator. You will click on each of the tabs on the right side of the chart and place them in the appropriate spot according to their proper place on the Scale. Now you may have to do some reading. You can find some reading information here on the display. You can look around for the information to solve the puzzle. HINT: Don’t forget the chart on Scott’s wall back at the farmhouse.
Once you get the Fujita Scale puzzle solved, it will immediately cut out to overhear a conversation between Pa and Brooke Tavanah. Once the conversation is done, go to Pa and talk to him. He tells you to help yourself to the mousetrap. Go back into the museum and get the mousetrap located on the wall where the Dust Bowl Display is, under the Route 66 sign. Click on it to take it off the wall and click on it again to place it into your inventory.
Go back and talk to Pa again. Tell him you finished the candy display, and he will give you a bigger vacuum hose. Click on it to put it into your inventory.
Talk to Pa again about Brooke and Ma. Then it is time to go back to the farmhouse.
Task #9 – Take care of the Prairie Dogs by the cornfield SPOILER: PRAIRIE DOGS– PUZZLE #9 - Go and talk to Chase: Give him the new vacuum hose and he will whip you up a prairie dog sucking machine just quick! Click on the “handy dandy prairie dog vacuum” to put it into your inventory. She asks him how it works, he says you need to stick the vacuum into the hole and all the critters in the burrows of that hole will be sucked into the bag. He reminds you that if there ain’t any critters in the burrows of that hole you will lose suction and some of the ones you have already caught will escape. Go out of the garage and head over to where the prairie dogs are behind the tire swing. Once you are there, open your inventory and select the vacuum and click on the ground where the prairie dogs are, it will then open the puzzle. You can see the prairie dogs will stick their heads out and then back in at different times. The ones that stick their heads out at the same time are in the same burrow, as Chase put it. So when 3 mice stick their head out, you want to put the vacuum on one of the holes and click on it. If you click on a hole that is empty, of if the prairie dog disappears before the vacuum starts, one or more of the prairie dogs will escape. You need to suck up 16 prairie dogs to fill up the slot on the left before you can move them to their new location. When you get all the prairie dogs in the vacuum you can now re-locate them to the other side of the garage/barn. Go over towards the blue car and turn left. You will see an arrow that shows you around the corner of the right side of the garage. It is in this new place that you will release the prairie dogs. Go up to the new area and click on it. Nancy says that it is the perfect new home for the prairie dogs. Open your inventory. Select the vacuum and then click on the ground to release the prairie dogs. Now you can take the vacuum back to Chase.
As you try to leave the prairie dog area, Nancy sees a flash in the yellow rose bush on the side of the barn. Go check it out. It is another box like the one you found with all the money in it. But this one has a note, read it, and click on the box to put it into your inventory.
Now take the vacuum back to Chase. He will reward you with some Pa Pennies.
Now it is time to move on to Task #10 – Capture mice in Scott’s Office. SPOILER: SCOTT’S MICE– PUZZLE #10, (This is also for puzzle's #15, #17, #19)
This one too doesn’t have a picture solution so I will again try to explain how to finish this task. Go and talk to Scott, he is glad to see you have a trap and tells you to go by the wall where the mice hang out. When you go into Scott’s office to set up the mousetrap you will notice that there is a pile of corn on the floor directly under the stereo to your right as you enter his office. Click on that area and you will get a close up of the floor in which to set the mousetrap. Click your inventory to place the mousetrap on the floor. If you click on the dried corn and place it in the mousetrap you see a little mouse come up to the trap and turn away “I don’t think they like that.” So we have to use something else. Do you remember where you saw any mice bait? Where all the other supplies are…Ma & Pa’s. So get in your car and drive to Ma & Pa’s. Once there, go talk to Pa and ask him what he would use for bait, he suggests cheese. So go to the candy section and you will see cheese for sale for $0.95 get one and go back to Scott’s office. Once again place the mousetrap on the floor this time you will see a grocery bag at the top left corner of the screen, click on it to open it and select the cheese. Place the cheese in the trap and once again that little mouse will come and sniff the bait and goes inside, you will then be moved to the puzzle scene. HINT: You cannot fail this puzzle you will just need to be patient to solve it.
Nancy said before that she needs to be sure to fill all of the traps. You will see that each section is divided to little squares, the lines that separate the squares are doors and you can click on them to trap the mice into each section. HINT: Work from the back forward. Don’t forget to click on the center “bridge” to turn it to fill the other spaces. Just remember to turn it back or the mice will have nowhere to go. When you get all the mice in each space then it will automatically close up and you can then take the cage by clicking on it to add it to you inventory.
She announces that she “got ‘em” and Scott tells her to take them and dump them at the Spring House on Old Orchard Road.
So lets hop in the car and drive to the springhouse. If you remember how to get there you can drive there without the use of the GPS, if you don’t remember you can open the GPS and navigate there. Once you get to the springhouse, approach the door, then open your inventory and select the mousetrap. Click on the ground in front of the springhouse door and the mice will scurry under the door. Now you can go back to the Farmhouse, task #10 is done!
Go in and talk to Debbie, she wants to MOVE! The storm is getting critical. You and Frosty will be chasing a storm! Lets go! It will automatically put you in front of the little blue car. Click on the car. WOOHOO! Were gonna get a twister! Now listen to Frosty’s feedback while you are driving, he will tell you if you are going the wrong way. Basically what you are looking for is what looks like a tornado over the area you want to go. If you open your GPS you see two clouds on the left part of your screen, if you go there you will see that a tornado looking cloud is over the viewpoint which is the top most cloud on the left, go there. When you pull into the viewpoint, you see a tornado heading for a farmhouse. Frosty then gets upset that his camera is not working and tells you to fix it. This (in my opinion) is the hardest puzzle to solve in this case so here we go…
Task #13 – Fix Frosty’s Camera. SPOILER: FIX FROSTY’S CAMERA– PUZZLE #13. You see an error screen and Frosty says that the camera keeps shooting stills, you need to reprogram the camera by basically connecting the numbers into a long string that does not end from 1 – 88. You will need to place the black numbers among the red numbers to create a single sequential string from 1-88 with each number connecting to the next along the horizontal, vertical or diagonal. HINT: The music sounds like you are being timed, and Frosty is very impatient but I have taken a long time on this puzzle and never had a problem finishing it in time.
Once you get the camera fixed you watch the tornado destroy the building. Then Frosty tells you it didn’t record a thing. He says I thought you said you fixed it, Nancy responds “I did fix it” and you head back to the homestead.
You then start talking to Scott, he is upset at you for not fixing Frosty’s camera, he tells you to go and call it a day.
YOU HAVE JUST COMPLETED DAY 3!!! Great job!
Now let's move on: Day Four
